Michael Lynch

 

Michael is passionate about assisting companies and individuals grow their business through the development of their people  and strong corporate governance, systems and procedures.

Michael  has been successful in guiding companies in the establishment of the required levels of project management and documentation necessary for government programs,  and has a passion for professional and effective corporate governance.

Michael spent the first 20 years of his working life as a marine engineer at sea and managing repair and refit projects. Following this period he owned and operated a successful commercial diving, underwater construction and diver training business. For the next three years Michael owned and operated a consultancy in the fields of integrated logistic support (ILS), contracting to the Department of Defence and to defence related industries.

In 1991 Michael moved to the area of government business incentives and has specialised in the R&D Tax Concession, the R&D Tax Incentive and other government innovation programs since that time. He is acknowledged as an expert in this area, being called on to submit practitioner articles for CCH Tax week and to speak at industry conferences.

Michael has been heavily involved with the protection of R&D benefits for Australian companies has presented to the Senate Economics Legislation Committee during their review of the Taxation Laws relevant to this area. Michael was a foundation member of the Industry Research and Development Board’s R&D Tax Concession Administration Consultative Group.

Michael’s current activities include his position as Chairman and CEO of BSI Learning – which plays to his strengths of Strong Corporate Governance and Project Management.

Michael holds a Diploma in Marine Systems, a Graduate Diploma Business Administration (Syd) and a Diploma from AICD. He is a Justice of the Peace (NSW), a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAIDC) and an Associate Tax Institute of Australia Tax Agent (R&D)
