Course Overview: This combined Certificate III qualification is designed for sole traders, business owners, and aspiring entrepreneurs aiming to establish and grow their own cleaning businesses. The programme integrates practical cleaning techniques with essential business management skills, providing a comprehensive foundation for operating a successful cleaning service. Participants will develop competencies to manage both the hands-on and strategic aspects of running a cleaning business, including service delivery, customer engagement, safety compliance, and business administration.

Target Audience: This qualification is ideal for individuals looking to start or expand their own cleaning ventures. It supports new and existing business owners in acquiring the dual competencies needed to manage business operations whilst delivering high-quality cleaning services.

Course Structure: The course includes 14 units of competency, combining core cleaning operations with business administration and customer service skills. Delivered over 12 months, this blended learning programme includes virtual workshops, eLearning modules, readings, and practical assessments. Sessions are scheduled approximately twice a month, supported by self-directed learning activities and written assessments to ensure comprehensive skill development.

Core Components:

• Business Management and Customer Engagement: Develop foundational business management skills, customer service expertise, and regulatory knowledge to meet compliance requirements for small businesses.

• Cleaning Operations and Safety Practices: Gain proficiency in specialised cleaning techniques, infection prevention, and workplace safety protocols essential for maintaining a reputable and compliant business.

Learning Outcomes: Upon successful completion, participants will be able to:

• Operate and manage a small cleaning business, including compliance and safety management
• Deliver customer-centred services and handle client needs effectively
• Apply WHS and infection control procedures to maintain high standards in cleaning practices
• Perform specialised cleaning tasks, including high-touch surface sanitisation and equipment maintenance
• Organise personal work priorities and implement sustainable work practices for business longevity

Successful completion of all units of competency will result in the award of a nationally recognised CPP30321 Certificate III in Cleaning from the Property Services Package. Participants who do not successfully complete the full program will be issued with a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for any of the unit/s of competency they have been deemed competent in.
