MSM30116 | Certificate III in Process Manufacturing

Learn skills, confidence and become job-ready to step up into a Manufacturing role

Equips advanced production workers with the skills to operate diverse equipment and perform support functions directly involved in product manufacturing.

MSM30116 | Certificate III in Process Manufacturing

The MSM30116 Certificate III in Process Manufacturing provides the competencies required by advanced production workers who use a range of equipment and provide support functions directly related to producing products. They would undertake more advanced roles than workers with a Certificate II in Process Manufacturing, working in accordance with operating procedures and applying knowledge to anticipate problems and solve a range of foreseen and unforeseen problems.

BSI Learning offers this qualification to current production workers who use a range of equipment and provide support functions directly related to producing products. They may be able-bodied or disabled, physically or mentally. They would undertake more advanced roles, working in accordance with the operating procedures and would apply their knowledge to anticipate problems and solve a range of foreseen and unforeseen problems.

Production support workers – people working in manufacturing and filling the vital production roles but who may not have the opportunity to develop competency in sufficient technical units related directly to producing products
Those employees who operate across more than one category within process manufacturing or ‘specialised processes’ and elsewhere when required.

Applicants will be used to working in a hands-on practical production environment and carrying out set tasks with some requirements for initiative and adaptability. They will generally respond well to simple, pragmatic and logical approaches, often looking for methods and techniques they can apply easily to solve real-world problems. They will have some considerable experience that will be used constructively in the training.

Entry requirements include on the job experience using hand tools

This qualification requires moderate command of spoken English, the capacity and ability interact with team members and other staff and, on occasion, with customers, to read and the ability to write and communicate at the level needed to effectively communicate within a business. All applicants are already working in a process manufacturing environment. Technology literacy requirements include the ability to use basic hand tools and equipment, perform basic calculations using a calculator, some basic experience using manufacturing and warehousing systems, and some exposure to personal productivity tools such as word processing, spreadsheets, and internet searches and usage. Additional assistance and delivery days are provided for learners with disabilities.

The duration of this course is 6-12 months (depending on ability) and includes face to face/workplace delivery. Each session is followed by self-directed learning time including eg reading, work-based activities.
