As one of the nation’s largest residential home builders, NEX Building Group is trusted by families to deliver high-quality, innovative homes tailored to modern lifestyles.

The Challenge
With a strong culture of leadership, creativity, and personal growth already in place, NEX saw an opportunity to uplift its manufacturing teams and provide them with relevant, real-world training. To maintain consistency, quality, and performance across steel frame production, upskilling was essential. Without current, practical skills on the factory floor, business performance could be impacted.

The Solution
NEX partnered with BSI Learning to deliver the MSM30116 Certificate III in Process Manufacturing across three production facilities over 6–8 months. The program offered hands-on, workplace-based training aligned with NEX’s production standards. Team members deepened their understanding of end-to-end manufacturing, quality control, safety, warehousing, and team leadership.

The Outcome
Participants gained new skills, enhanced existing ones, and built confidence through teamwork and communication. They developed a stronger appreciation for safety and quality, and their contributions to NEX’s success. What’s more, they gained a valuable industry qualification which is great for their career development.

“Identifying a training program that meets the needs of our factory employees at Supaloc has been a goal of mine and something I’m passionate about. Thank you for your guidance and for BSI’s support of the Cert III in Process Manufacturing.”
Shamala Riggs, Head of Learning.

“People are really enjoying it—applying skills at work, seeing things differently. The trainer is excellent, helping them understand risk assessments and appreciate what we do as a business.”
