11152NAT Certificate IV in Tropical Biosecurity is a nationally recognised qualification created with and for Indigenous communities across northern Australia.

Run by BSI Learning Institute, this program builds skills in biosecurity surveillance, emergency response and following biosecurity rules, all grounded in cultural knowledge to help protect Country.

Culturally led and backed by the government, the course respects and strengthens traditional ways while also growing strong leadership, compliance and community engagement skills.

Eligibility Requirements

BASIC SKILLS

You should have basic reading, writing and maths skills and be comfortable using a computer or open to learning.

AND

Completion of one of the following qualifications

  • AHC31416 Certificate III in Conservation and Land Management
  • AHC31516 Certificate III in Indigenous Land Management
  • AHC33616 Certificate III in Pest Management

11152NAT – Certificate IV in Tropical Biosecurity

If you already have skills and knowledge from work or other learning, you may be eligible for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). This means your experience can be formally recognised and count towards your course, so you don’t have to learn the same things again.
Successful completion of all units of competency will result in the award of a nationally recognised 11152NAT Certificate IV in Tropical Biosecurity. Participants who do not successfully complete the full program will be issued with a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for the units of competency they have been deemed competent in. Recognition is available for this qualification – see the Student Handbook or the Recognition Process page for more information.
