As an e-commerce business owner and business adviser, I firmly believe that collaboration stands as one of the most crucial skills for achieving success, especially in the current economic climate.
The concept of collaboration may be unfamiliar to many business owners, particularly those from CALD backgrounds, but while the primary goal of being in business is to make money by selling our services or products, understanding how to collaborate can open up a multitude of opportunities.
Collaborations bring many benefits, such as saving time and resources, building a reputation, and increasing sales, just to name a few. To collaborate successfully, both parties need to have a “win/win” mentality, focussing on what each party can offer to benefit both. Examples of collaborations include working with people or businesses that have similar target markets but may be competitors or offer complementary products or services.
Effective collaboration begins with networking, which involves asking insightful questions and developing a deep understanding of the other party.
